Changes to the manual

We have four questions about the proposed changes to the manual.

Summary of the changes

Pharmac’s Operating Policies and Procedures Manual (OPP Manual) has been updated to better reflect Pharmac’s current breadth of operations and to align it with current legislative and health system settings.

However, the key operational provisions of the fifth edition are substantively similar to the fourth edition of the OPP Manual.

Key changes include:

  • reorganising the overall structure to make it clearer and easier to follow
  • adjusting the content to ensure alignment with government expectations
  • bringing the content up to date with current practice
  • updating the content to account for new policies
  • updating keywords to reflect current use
  • adding explanatory detail to clarify the content.
  • The OPP Manual will be subject to a threeyearly review.
2. Do you foresee any unintended consequences from the changes?
3. Do you recommend any changes?
4. Do you feel that the proposed revised edition is clear and functional?
5. Do you have any further comments or feedback?
