Proposal to continue with the current provider for storage and distribution services for funded pharmaceuticals

Overview

Pharmac is seeking feedback on a proposal to continue using Pharmacy Retailing (NZ) Limited trading as Onelink (“Onelink”) for the storage and distribution services of the funded pharmaceuticals; condoms, naloxone and nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) (“funded pharmaceuticals”)

This proposal is being made following an open competitive Request for Proposals (‘RFP”) to secure ongoing storage and distribution services for funded pharmaceuticals and vaccines. Following this process, we propose that Onelink would continue to provide storage and distribution services for the funded pharmaceuticals in scope of this process.

Under this proposal, Onelink would also be contracted to provide storage and distribution services for ledipasvir/sofosbuvir (“Harvoni”) and ribavirin. These services are currently provided by Pharmacy Retailing (NZ) Limited trading as Healthcare Logistics (“HCL”). There would be no change to how these services are delivered, and we expect minimal impact for patients, pharmacies, or other stakeholders as HCL would continue to provide the services.

As part of the same RFP process, we requested proposals from suppliers for the supply of national and regional level storage and distribution services for funded vaccines. The outcome of this process was notified in January 2026.

Consultation closes at 4pm Friday 24 July 2026.
